Our Past

Filed under: poems — kajarebecca @ 8:50 pm

A soft breeze is a ‘blowin quietly through these trees, as I recall what happened here in the past and I pray the peace will always last!

For such a price was paid to keep this land free—why, here some soldier may have once laid.

Here where I now stand they may have breathed their last, here I am standing in a place of the past.

Where so much history was made, and so many brave men and women have gone to lay, for a thing called ‘freedom’–it’s worth more than any worldly kingdom!

May they never be forgotten, and their story often sotten!

The Letter

Filed under: poems — kajarebecca @ 8:43 pm

The letter starts out on her desk, waiting to take flight after it’s long rest.

It’s many friends’ she has used to fill with joy, sadness and anger, but always with kindness from knowing the one born in a manger.

It wonders what secrets it may hide, as it rushes through both land and tide!

And then with care she takes it up, with love and wonder she fills it up!

With every stroke she tells of her heart, their friendship never to be torn apart.

Now she seals it with her love and sends it on it’s way–at last taking his joyful flight, like a eager dove!

What great adventures land and tide, will it discover but always hide!

Mustang

Filed under: poems — kajarebecca @ 8:37 pm

Mustang, O’ Mustang, so wild and free as you run ‘ore the prairies as fast as can be!

You raise up your family so brave, that no one can ever make you their slave.

You never give up, would rather run till you drop instead of being caught, captured or stopped!

You mane carries the winds of freedom, while your tail sweeps over unknown kingdoms!

Mustang, O’ Mustang, stay so wild and free, and forever run-until eternity!
